FATAL WATCH

This film uncovers and exposes the nightmare for the future of wild fish in the sea, and how ocean observers are dying to tell the truth.

“FATAL WATCH” is a feature documentary where true crime meets ocean environmental. The film opens with a murder mystery, the crime scene is the dazzling Western Central Pacific where island nations dominate the seascape. Yet their fish stocks, their most valuable resource are being strip-mined by voracious distant-water fishing fleets. China being the biggest player in the over fishing world. The murder victims are marine observers, caught in the cross-fire of a global fishing war. We follow the murder investigation to learn that their murders warn of a greater threat, a global food supply in jeopardy, fisheries collapse and a prophecy of an empty ocean.

This eco thriller will expose the true cost of unchecked industrial over fishing worldwide, the human lives sacrificed, the money made, and the mounting environmental damage. The film will change the way you think about the fish we eat and the way we think about our roles in securing the future of our oceans, for in the end we all need to be at sea observers. Observers going overboard at sea is murder by any other name. Global over fishing is a catalogue of sins against sustainability. Secrecy is the norm in the fishing industry and much of the global fishing catch reporting trashes the reality of truth.

Fishing management agencies are incapable of regulating the wild west fishing industry mentality. Much of the legal industrial fishing industry wears only a fig leaf of legality. This film uncovers and exposes the nightmare for the future of wild fish in the sea and the ocean observers, and how these young men are dying to tell the truth.
